A journey of the heart, confronting the demons of the past. A great game with a great story-worthy of your money.

User Rating: 8 | Final Fantasy IX PS
Story: The story is the absolute best part of this game. You play the character named Zidane Tribal, a thief who's on a mission with his brethren to kidnap the Princess! The story eventually involves a large cast of characters who are pretty memorable, each who go through their own personal voyages. Some learn the meaning of their existence, while others doubt their own, some come along on your journey for the chance to prove themselves. War is about to break out, engulfing all of the major kingdoms on the Mist Continent. The Mist Continent is filled with a strange flowing mist which brings forth monsters. Eventually you'll learn the origin of the sinister mist, you'll visit other worlds, and confront the past you've longed for so much. Gameplay: Gameplay is good, and the battle revolves around the ATB system featured in Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy VIII. All the characters can learn abilities through armor, and techniques through armor as well. This game has a limit break system as well, in which through certain requirements you are able to transform and perform unique abilities. The characters are almost always animated very well, and show reactions to some conversation unlike a lot of previous Final Fantasy's.

Sound: The sound in this game is very good, it features a vocal song called Melodies of Life. It also has a very wide array of songs, each one vastly different than the last. Sound effects are top quality as well. Graphics: The graphics in this game are really good, however have more of a cartoonish appearance rather than Final Fantasy VIII's more real approach. The backgrounds are done very well, and can really bring the game to life. Replay Value: There is not much replay value in this game, as there isn't very many extras other than a Chocobo Minigame. Many people will replay this game just for memories sake, because it will leave you with quite a few good ones.

Final Note: I would recommend buying this if you ever see it in a bargain bin, or at a Gamestop. It is a good old game, that doesn't seem to get very much spotlight. It's worth the $10 you can find it for. You will be shocked, and awed at the story in this game!
