Just about the best RPG I've ever played.

There was something very charming about the game, and I realized it as soon as I started playing. It was my first Final Fantasy, and no other Final Fantasy that came after (or before) it was as good in my opinion. FFIX was simply...FUN. The character designs are not very realistic and had a cartoon-like feel, but that just added to the game's charm. And because of the "!" icon that shows up whenever you encounter something interactive, it's much easier to find all the items scattered about in the world.
Now as for the battle system, I think ATB was the best system introduced in the series. The change they made to FFX wasn't bad, but it was certainly different. I wouldn't mind at all if they incorporated something like the ATB again in future games but I don't see that as very likely...
As for the rating, I rarely ever give a 10, and that just shows how much I like this game.
