Deserves more respect than it gets

This isn't the most loved FF out there. If you follow GS forums as closely as I do, it's easy to tell that people either love 7 or 10. I believe the light-heartedness and somewhat goofy looking characters of 9 turn people off. But they're wrong! I love this game for the most part. Graphics are solid for the PS1. Yeah it looks a little rough here and there but it's okay. Controls are fine. Sound is beautiful. I would rate 6, 7, and 9 as the best soundtracks in the FF series. Especially pay close attention to the last two boss battles of the game. It almost sounds like some big rock opera. Random battles once again are a hurdle to enjoying the gameplay, as is the case in any FF game. It tests the patience to be in an important castle or dungeon looking for something and have to switch away to the turn based battle screen every 5 seconds (or less). That's right. Sometimes you'll get a random battle after taking one step! It's kind of ridiculous I think. If you are kind of iffy on RPGs because of that, I think it's still worth it to play this for the storyline. You've got a hero with a tail, a cute little princess, and a black mage with a pointy hat as your star characters. What more could you want? Okay I must admit when I describe it like that it might sound a little odd. They captured my heart though. They will capture yours. If they don't then....you can....write me hate mail!! The theme of this game is life and what is the meaning of it. Plus you get to see Dagger (the princess) seduce the guy with the tail Zidane in the airship. Ohhhhh lala. Watch them have their own little final fantasy.

j/k Okay that doesn't really happen. Buy the game though.
