This certainly was not my first experience playing a RPG, but it sticks out in my memory as my favorite. I've recently started replaying mystic quest, and after all these years it still holds up. Great story. fun characters. The game does have it's share of easy repetitive gameplay (not unlike most RPG's of the time), but besides that it's still an enjoyable experience.
The music in this game is awesome, almost more memorable than the game itself. Lack of random encounters was a welcome happening, even if during the volcano level there were a few, they were avoidable with some luck. All in all I'd recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of older RPG's or Final Fantasy in general.
