FF VI is a must-play game for all RPG fans. This classic game brings to mind all the best aspects of older RPGs

User Rating: 9 | Final Fantasy VI Advance GBA
While Square Enix may have gotten some bad press for merely porting older games to new systems, this is one game that can't be faulted. Final Fantasy VI has old-school charm as well as an interesting plot. The many twists leave you wondering what will happen next. While you are immediately immersed into the plot and gameplay, the start is very easy to comprehend and works its way up in difficulty. As you move through the world and meet new companions, you begin to comprehend the politics that move the world. The graphics, while somewhat grainy, still hold up to the GBA, and the character portraits are especially well-detailed. The sound, however, shows its age, with older tinny tunes and unsophisticated action sounds. Overall, the large number of characters, the innovative use of Espers for magic, and original and memorable moments such as the Opera scene, make FF VI an extremely enjoyable game that is worth playing multiple times, despite its age. You really need to play this game if you haven't.
