It's not just the greatest RPG ever made, it is the greatest game ever made. Period.

No game is better to me than this one. A engaging story, great cast of characters and open battle system make this not only the greatest RPG ever made, but the greatest game ever. Period. There isn't even an argument. In Star Wars fashion, a evil empire (The Gesthalian Empire) is intent on world domination and only a group of rebels (i.e The Returners) can stop them. I won't go into detail here. I think that most of hardcore gamers have played this one, but it is one the first games in history to have a more mature storyline that wasn't just for kids. You cared about the characters and what happened to them. The game is old (SNES days), but nothing newer is as engaging as this one. The game's battle system is a simple ATB system and there are several characters to choose from. They all have their own unique abilities and by the end of the game you can make into powerhouses. It may seem a bit outdated by today's standards, but no one said that was ever a bad thing. If you haven't played it, don't delay. Do yourself a favor and pick it up now!
