Though I own the DVD and not the PSP UMD, I doubt they will let me review the DVD version. As with the lame Final Fantasy: Spirits within movie, this one features extremely lifelike CG animation. However, the story sticks to the FF baseline and is actually a sequel to the classic FF7 PSOne game. The movie is a full 1 hr and 41 minutes, which is pretty long for an animated film. It stays true to the game and offers awesome battles and as I said, awesome animation. It really is amazing to see all your favorite FF7 characters come to life, and look so realistic. Though during some of the scenes you will notice the cheesy Dynasty Warriors esque music, you do also encounter great music alongide it. The movie offers great voiceovers(Cloud is a great example of great voice talent), except I do hate how the one dumb brother always tends to laugh whenever he fights and actually calls them a "meanie." And you do tend to hear them go "hmph" "ha" "eh" quite a bit. But the storyline is great, though a tad confusing for those who never played nor finished FF7. Its great to also know they didn't rush the final battle, they made it unique and made it reak badass. Great CG, great battles, great story as well as characters = A definate must buy in my book.
