The best videogame movie!

User Rating: 9.3 | Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children PSP
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children is a sequel to the FF7 game for the original Playstation, except the sequel is a movie, and a good movie at that.

Graphics: This is the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. There are so many little details that make this movie look real. You forget you are watching animated characters, you truly believe they are actual people. The animation is very fluid and it just is amazing. The action sequences are amazing, they look so cool. This surpasses Final Fantasy: Spirits Within's graphics which is a hard feet to do.

Sound: The sound is very good. The music is from the game but with a kick. The music is great and helps the atmosphere. The voice-overs are actually quite good. I liked the voice of every character, especially Cid. I just imagined Cid with an australian (or british) accent and it sounded like that in the movie. The voices didn't perfectly match the lips, but it usually was good. And if you want to watch it in Japanese, go ahead. The movie has two languages to listen to: Japanese and English. And if you don't speak either(how are you reading this then?) there are tons of subtitle languages to choose from.

(Gameplay)Story: If you haven't played Final Fantasy 7 you will probably have a hard-time figuring out what is going on(I would recommend looking at the special feature on the DVD right below "play movie", it will help a little with the story). I thoght the editing was not done very well, after watching it twice I didn't think the editing was too bad, but it is confusing the first time. The dialogue was also weird, it didn't sound like what people would say in real life but overall it was okay.

Value: The special edition comes with 2 DVD's and has some special features. The special features are trailers of the movie, a (so-so) making of, footage from the Venice Film Festival, trailers of upcoming FF games, and short video about the story in FF7 the game. The movie is good enough to buy and the mediocre extras help a little.

Overall: If you like the Final Fantasy series, you will like this movie. it was as if Square-Enix made this for the fans of FF7 because people who haven't played FF7 will have problems figuring out what is going on. And if you are just looking for an over the top action movie you may find it here.
