At least the graphics were good, and yes I'm talking about a movie this time.

I'll keep this review short since there's basically nothing to say about this movie except that it looks nice.

The plot is full of holes and basically nothing happens the entire time. People "die" in one scene just to reappear in the next scene completely fine, there's a random cell phone "ad" throughout the entire first half, and the cameos are so glued on you feel like you should push on the screen so they don't fall off.

The movie itself is bad. Like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation bad. It's just random scenes taped together with fight scenes. If you're hoping the plot will do anything to forward the story of FF7 you're in for disappointment. One would think that a movie based up Final Fantasy would put the story first, but not Square. This is an "action" movie in the worst sense of the word.

Which brings me to the graphics. The movie itself is very impressive looking on the whole, but I really think it lacks life especially when the action heats up. The fight scenes seem to have been engineered to look extremely cool but they didn't really do anything to draw me in. Whether it was Cloud speeding along the road on his motorcycle or an intense fight scene it doesn't really seem like the characters are in the environment they're supposed to be in. All I wanted is some wind or bouncing or any kind of realistic movements out of any of the characters or props but they just weren't there. The fight scenes are so over the top they take you right out of the action entirely.

But I can see how some people would say they are cool just the same way some thought the Matrix sequels were cool, but who are we kidding?

The dub was decent no one in the film had a voice that really grated on me like many dubs do. The sound in general was fairly unnoticeable and not really impressive.

Altogether the movie has its moments. If you want basically a tech demo for next gen graphics pick it up. Otherwise I'd really suggest a rental before a purchase because the plot, which is really what keeps people coming back to movies over and over, is just not there.
