I'm a FF7 guru, purist, etc, and have spent more time in my life playing FF7 than most World of Warcraft junkies spend at their . . . addiction. Having asserted my authority on the matter, based on experience, I am pleased to say that Advent Children was amazing.
One who is unfamiliar with the concept of the game and of the story would likely be taken back by the array of unbelievably powerful human tanks who once again decide the fate of the Planet. For me, however, it justified making it to lvl 99 and mastering all my materia. It makes a lot more sense to think of the characters abilities as they are portrayed in the movie than the line-up and hack away version of the game - a perspective which, in my opinion makes the game even more fun (yes, I still play it).
Omnislash against Sepheroth was awesome, too.

  This movie fills in everything that should've been filled in at the end of Final Fantasy VII.
