Wow.
THE GOOD:
-Storyline. FF7 starts off serious enough with the traincar scene, and it doesn't slow down. You meet Cloud and Team Avalance at the beginning of a journey that will take them 1,000 miles and through 1,000 adventures, dead characters, love, hate, passion and pride before it's all over with.
-The graphics are top notch. The inclusion of the CG cutscenes are welcome and help drive the plot like no other game before it.
-The musical score in the game is excellent, impersive, compelling. It was what you have music in a game to do.
-The controls and battle mechanics are solid and traditional RPG-styled. Entertaining, intense, engaging.
-The world is enjoyable and worth experiencing. So many differnet places to go (even to outer space), and they're all worth visiting.
-The characters are a joy to meet and add to your party
-The intensity of the situation at hand compells you forward.
-Sepinroth makes for a great villian
-Animations for the magic and summonable creatures is second to none.
THE BAD:
-I would have liked for the black character to not have been so grossly stereotypical.
Bottom line: if you like RPG's AT ALL...or have ever had an interest in a stroyline-driven game, you need to have this experience. It's almost a necessity for any gamer. Don't cheat yourself. Treat yourself!
