Square knows how to make Role Playing Games named Final Fantasy...... PERIOD!!!!!

User Rating: 9.7 | Final Fantasy VII PS
Now, before I review this game I have to say that the people who say this game is the greatest of all time are the ones who didn't start playing role playing games until this game hit the shelves in every game and department stores. The only people I will excuse from that list are the ones between the ages of 3 to 5 during the release of this game. Anyone who is older should know better. Final Fantasy 7 is THE game that brought role playing games to mainstream society. In my overall list of greatest role playing games ever made, Final Fantasy 7 is 5th just behind #1-Chrono Trigger, #2-Final Fantasy VI (III), #3-Dragon Quest VIII, and #4-Final Fantasy X. Note this list of greatest games is subject to change. Now on to the review......

Final Fantasy 7 set a new standard not just for role playing games but all games in every genre. This game did something that no games had ever done before it and is the reason games look as good as they do today. This game had a lot of hype surrounding it during its release in 1997 and it lived up to every inch.

I was 16 years old when this game first hit the market. This game is the sole reason why I purchased a Playstation and became a loyal Playstation console fan. I purchased my 1st Playstation and this game the first day this game was released. That point forward I have been behind the Playstation console.

This game presented a very solid story. The story was a bit confusing at first but revealed itself as you progress towards the end. The cut scenes were unbelievable. It was like watching a movie while playing a game. The gameplay was very solid. This game did have a somewhat linear path but it did open up after the first few hours of play. The custamazation was mainly with the different types of materia collected. The characters were wonderful and presented their own personalities. The world you played in was great and presented a lot of suprises around every corner.

This game presented the greatest unigue scene ever put into a role playing game. The scene when Aeris was slained by Sephiroth. For the first time when the story said a main character was finished that was it, that character was done, no reviving or saving with a life spell or phoenix down.

This game also presented the GREATEST summon of all time..... The Knights Of Round. No summon before or after was no where as sweet as The Knights Of Round. Once that summon was mastered you could one hit kill all bosses including the final boss with the proper combination of other materia.

The greatest villain of all time was also presented in this game. You all know who he is..... Sephiroth!!!!!!! From the very beginning when his story was starting to be told to the very climax you knew something special was being presented before your eyes. Job well done Square.

Awesome game. I loved every second and still play it even today. I doubt few people haven't played this game but if you haven't then you better get off your lazy rear and get this game. A game that shouldn't be missed by anyone.
