What can one say to do justice to such a brilliant game. I grew up with Final Fantasy VII. It's the first game I played that had everything you could ask for. Its evocative nature surely made many think that games were becoming more than just a way to pass the time. The storyline was flawlessly done, which made it easy to suspend your disbelief and immerse yourself in the unfolding journey of Cloud, and the gang. The characters all seamlessly fit in, and complimented each other well. The soundtrack just added to the emotion of the game, and made each new area and event unique, and memorable. The graphics for their time were exceptional, and the game-play system of materia was a concept interesting enough to keep many playing the game for 100 hours or more. Final Fantasy VII provided the full range of emotions with the unfortunate death of Aeris that brought tears to so many eyes, to obtaining the master materia which gave a feeling of satisfaction to the player like few other games could. Final Fantasy VII is an invaluable piece of gaming history and anyone who hasn't played it should do so immediately. Missing out on this game would be a mistake for anyone who has ever picked up a video game controller.
