Best graphics, dialogue, game play...at that time.
With Final fantasy VII came a totally new game in the series. This time Square went with the anime mecha style and it seemed to work very well for both eastern and western fans. In the previous final fantasy's, the main character was supported by fellow characters and those supporting characters didnt have much of a role until FF6. FF7 introduced the supporting characters into the story where every character was part of nearly every scene. The dialogue was more endepth this time around as well. Before FF's were an adventure with a purpose to do so, now they had a story to give a purpose, not just a journey. The main character was worked on very well by square. They brought in a new type of character, one with internal conflicts as well as external. They made backgrounds on nearly all the characters, expecially the main 3-4 characters (cloud, tifa, aeris, maybe barret or cid). The new indepthed storyline gets a 10/10.
One of the best parts about final fantasy VII would have to be the summons. We all remember "Knights of the round" hehe. That summon..i swear...lasts 10minutes it seems. The magic was great, the limit breaks were awesome! The final battle was very intense as well. This final fantasy had it all, the animations earn a 10/10. period.
Final thought-
The graphics seemed cheesy at times with their big heads and square hands, but once a battle started or a cut scene began, it was all made better. The detail made in the towns and villages were outstanding and The music was perfect for every scene in the game. Many people are fanboys of this final fantasy due to the large step Square took to basically blowing the previous FF's out of the water and the genre of the story and characters they used. If your a fanboy and whorship this FF, or love RPG's, this final fantasy goes down as one of the greatest, not the greatest, but in the top 3. My FF tilt, 10/10.
