The first FF game I played, and because of it I had to buy every other FF game released.

User Rating: 9.9 | Final Fantasy VII PS
Final Fantasy VII is arguably the greatest RPG, not to mention game, of all time, and even 8 years after its release its still holds up well against recent games.

STORY-10/10
FFVII starts off as you control Cloud Strife, a mercenary hired by AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE is a group devoted to stopping Shinra from destroying the planet. Eventually Cloud meets Aeris, a flower girl from the slums. Aeris is the last remaining Cetra and holds the key to saving the planet, and thats were the story unfolds. Cloud must try and regain memories from his past as he tries to stop Sephiroth, the meteor summoned by Sephiroth heading to the planet, aswell as the Shinra coperation with the help of Tifa, his childhood friend, Barret, the impulsive ex-minor with a missing arm, Cid, a 30is year old man with dreams of heading to space, Yuffie, a ninja/theif, Vincent, a possible Vampire with a mysterious past and many more.

GAMEPLAY-10/10
The controls in this game are nice and easy to learn in both mini-games, battles and on the feild. The ATB (active time battle) system is slow at first and may need to be sped up in the options, otherwise its perfectly timed in every aspect. As far as materia goes, it may sound like a bad idea allowing every character to learn every spell rather then have classes, but this is the one game where it actually works well.

GRAPHICS-10/10
The graphics overall are not bad, though may seem somewhat blocky, but at the time this showed some of the greatest graphics. The blocky graphics are the only thing that actually date this game, otherwise you couldnt tell when this was made. The characters look really nice, aswell as background and enemies.

SOUND-9/10
Sadly, this aspect of the game doesnt deserve a 10/10. Simply because the music can sometimes get repetitive. Overall though, the sound FX's and music are really great both in game, battle and during the cutscenes.

VALUE-10/10
This game comes packed with 3CD's and a number of mini-games to do on the side, including Chocobo Breeding, finding Limit Breaks and Ultimate Weapons, materia hunting and fighting head to head against the most feared FFVII bosses, the "Weapons." This game also holds alot of replay value which helped it stay a memorable game.
