This was the first RPG I ever played. My friend showed it to me when we were in 5th grade and I was confused as hell when I first saw it and how it worked. I had never seen an RPG before so I thought this game was just whack. After a few more attempts to explain it to me I suddenly became engaged when I understood what it was. I quickly bought it once I had saved up enough money and from there I spent a lot less time outside. I was sucked into the games innovative story and fell in love with the characters. I was mystified by Cloud's unclear past. I nearly cried when Aeris met her untimely demise. The game took me nearly 90 hours to beat the first time through mostly because I spent the whole time checking every single nook and cranny of the game and leveling up all my characters to ensure a somewhat easy victory at the end. After I was spoiled by FFVII I expected the same from the following games in the series but I have not been as impressed from the last three games to come from Square since this masterpiece.
