It beat out every other game ever made....and it has yet itself to be beaten.
As soon as the game was released, my cousin purchased it for his Play Station. Within a few minutes of watching him play, I was hooked on the story. We spent the next two weeks eating, sleeping, and breathing FFVII.
That was almost 9 years ago. And my love of FFVII has never wavered. It is, in my opinion, the best game ever created. It pushed graphics to a new level, and for it's time, it's game play was unrivaled.
Better graphics and game play have come and gone with new technology, but one thing above all else remains that makes FF VII truly the best game ever:
The story is absolutely unrivaled. Every time we think we have it figured out, there's another plot twist, another greater evil.
There are times I will sit down to play FFVII and still be blown away at just what kind of genius was put into it.
If you're into classic games, and you want a great RPG...this is, and always will be, the one to buy.
Once again, Square revolutionized the RPG genre and took us to the next level....and I am still waiting for the day that they will do it again.
