In Final Fantasy VII, you are a character named Cloud Strife, a mercenary hired by a group known as AVALANCHE. You're hired to blow up some Mako Reactors in the city you are in to help save the planet. After blowing up another reactor, Cloud falls from the upper levels of the city to the bottom. He crashed through a church, and onto a flower bed, which saved his life. He meets Aeris, who is later on kidnapped by Shinra, the owners of the reactors. Cloud, and the remainder of AVALANCHE decide to go into Shinra and rescue her. It is inside there that you learn of the game's real antagonist, Sephiroth. His plan is to summon a spell called Meteor, and greatly injure the earth so he can merge with the Life stream and become very powerful. It is your job to stop him at all costs.

Final Fantasy VII is a turn based RPG. You have HP and MP. Your HP is your health. The more that you are hit in the game, the more your limit break charges. Your limit break is a powerful move that you can use once the bar is full. You unlock more powerful limit breaks as the game progresses. Your MP is your magic points. You use magic by using materia. They are like little spheres that you buy with different spells on them. You can equip any character with any materia throughout the game. For instance, you can use the Ice materia in fights. Once you approach a boss who has a weakness to lightning, you can equip that materia. Once he is defeated, you can go back to using Ice again.

The game is filled with limitless amounts of fighting to keep you busy in between the main storyline plot. There are tons of extra content to be explored, getting every one's final limit break, ultimate weapons, or just chocobo breeding. This game is filled with tons of content, for hours of game play. The graphics, at the time were amazing, and the cut scenes were great looking. The sound track is filled with tons of music, and is very well done. The replay value is very high. I've played the game three times completely through, and still have urges to play it more! This is a MUST own game.
