Final Fantasy VII is quite possibly one of the greatest games ever to be played, despite the fact that its for the PS. Although that the graphics are 2nd best, their sophisticated gameplay and complex and in-depth storyline more than makes up for that. In this, you can control up to 4 characters, including the famous Cloud Strife. Although there's no actual dialouge, other than the "Pokemon-esque" text bubbles, you can pretty much piece together what their emotions are in every cutscene. Along the way you meet up with others in order to join your team in order to vanquish Sephiroth. The gameplay seems complex at first with the vast array of materia(hoping Yuffie doesnt get to them first ^_^) and weapons at your desposal to progress through the game. Overall, FFVII was the start of a very satisfying franchise that lasted through the years with the upcoming release of Crisis Core. Even though the game may be a little bit past its time, its still a game many people remember because it was the start of something great to last over the years or until people will get bored with it(which may take a while to).
