From battling a wide variety of monster to playing a simple game of cards, this Final Fantasy has everything.
A very deep story that just gets thicker and thicker with every disc. Bolstering a whooping 4-discs, this game is long, but you'll want it to keep going once you reach the end. One of the most grand adventures you'll ever go on in an RPG, with many places to explore and sidemissions to accomplish, it'll be a while before you perfect this game.
The new and welcome addition in this game is the cards you get and the ability to play against just about anyone you meet. You can aquire cards by using an ability to turn your very enemies into cards in the heat of a battle or win them from people you defeat in a card game. There's cards for every monster, boss and even playable and non-playable characters in the game. You'll spend hours just building your collection and looking for worthy adversaries.
All in all, Final Fantasy VIII will blow your mind away and keep it for itself, not letting your mind wander far from it's plot and intriguing style of gameplay. A must have for anyone who says they have a collection of superb games. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or has never played it.
