Final Fantasy 8 is a game that even now I still get a joy out of playing.

I would like to start my review by saying that Final Fantasy 8 is the best installment in the FF franchise. Period. There's all the hype around FF7 and stuff like that the FF8 almost gets overshadowed. But, FF8 is the "Diamond in the Rough." FF8 Packs an extremely gripping and powerful storyline that will have drawn into the game first 20 minutes of playing time. The character development throughout the game is believable and captivating. But the big thing in FF8 that make it stand out better than the rest is the sheer gameplay aspect. From Junctioning GF's and magic to make you character stronger to Boosting your GF's during a summon and watching the Lionheart demolish enemies for the first time. In some cases, people think that strategy guides can ruin a game. In this case, it makes the game that much better. Side quests can be unlocked reveling major storyline points and fighting hidden bosses that take 2 hours to defeat. This was my first try at a FF game, and from that point, it has been my favorite. Even though I own a 360 and a high-end PC, there are times when I dedicate an hour or so into sitting down with my PS One and play through the final boss fight again, and again.
