Final Fantasy X is one of the greatest RPG's of all time, and could easily be called 'best in series' at the time.

When I play an RPG, i like to feel that I am part of the main character, that's there's a little me down there on the screen, trying to save the world. Some Rpg's have helped me along with this, some have failed horriblely. But with the Final Fantasy series, it always seems to work just right, and FF X continues that and expands on it. First off, the Story in Final Fantasy X is just about the best one in a FF yet, once you learn the secret of Sin. The characters all are very distinct, and have their own personalities. You can count on Lulu and Auron to be pragmatic, Rikku and Wakka to try to lighten the mood, and Tidus and Yuna to be the one the others lean on. I'm not going to spoil the ending for anyone, but it had me yelling at the TV that there had to be another way for it to end. And very few games get me so involved with th characters like that. The graphics. Wow! That's what popped into my head when i first started playing. The environments were rich and detailed, the expressions on character faces changed as they were talking, everything seemed vibrant and alive. From the many, many belts Lulu wore(wears?) to the intricate patterns on the different weapons on armor everyone had, and the very monstrous monsters, this game raised the bar on graphic quality. Having played turn-based rpg for quite a few years, the gameplay didn't through me off at all. I think the window displaying who went in what order was a welcome addition, as you could see right there which fiend to take out next. What i Did find interesting was the aspect of actually using your summons to fight with. It was like giving the party a shield that could strike back. And I loved how everyone had a different method for unleashing their limit breaks, although some were a little hard to do at first. The whole 'Monster Ranch' was very enjoyable, cause some of those original creation fiends just killed me flat out. The steps needed to gain everyone's ultimate weapon were admirable, in the fact that no two ways were the same. but, if i have to dodge one more lighning bolt, i'm gonna scream. the Music was absolutely amazing, all that's all i have to say about that. The sounds of feet hitting the ground, of fiends dying, Bahamuts roar, all of the sounds were a sight for sore ears, if you will pardon the pun. But the fact that I could Actually hear my party members, in battle and out, was the best thing about it. I liked Rikku's voice so well, i started watching Fairly Odd-Parents and Teen Titans just because it was the same voice-actress(she also has a role in ToS). Overall, this game fulffilled every expectation I had for it and a little more. The only, and i mean only, downside to it was the lack of an overworld. Having played RPG's since the Nes days, it came as quite a shock that there wasn't one. And even when i got the airship and thought, 'hey, now i get to see the land laid out before me.', i was wrong. Don't get me wrong, i can understand with the scope of this game, that loading back and forth between the world map and not would have put too much pressure on the system. Still, I would recommend this game to anyone who knows how to speak.
