Astonding. This one pretty much breaks the mold.

I haven't played an RPG quite this good before (which is saying a lot, I'm an RPG fan big time!) The graphics are very nice, the character selection is well-balanced, not overly massive (only a few games like that) or tiny (like it's sequel FFX-2). The characters are all pretty easy to like and the plot was fairly well-summed as with most FF games.

Any problems? Yeah, let's take that complicated Sphere Grid leveling system. It's innovative in some ways, but... let's face it. For it's unique approach to learning abilities it's rather sad. For example: it took me forever to teach Tidus 'Cura' after the longest time (and I used Cura pretty frequently afterwards) and it was ridiculous that if you misused a Sphere in the Sphere Grid (like moving the wrong direction for any reason) you could be stuck there until your next sphere.

Overall, besides the strange leveling system... I felt good playing this. I support this (about 8 or 9 out of 10).
