I did not like this game except Auron. Auron Rocked.

A lot of people liked this game but I’m not one of them. The thing I disliked most was the character development and skill set distribution system. It was one of the most needlessly complicated systems I have run into. Granted, I’m highly partial to simplicity; but this was just ridiculous. I bought the help book and it didn’t help. I liked the underwater soccer game itself but it too seemed needlessly complicated and the deck was so stacked against you it seemed almost pointless especially in the game. I did not like the storyline main or sides. I’ve never liked time travel bits so early on I was annoyed. I did not like most of the characters either who were all stereotypes. The females were extreme stereotypes (spunky/cute, frail/weak/goody duh goody, and icy vixen with a heart of gold) if you played the game you instantly know which ones which. This was especially annoying regarding Yuna the summoner. Here’s someone who could command powerful beasts to fight for her and have weighty responsibilities put upon her and yet have to have a slew of bodyguard/advisors, gets kidnapped anyway, and can’t seem to think much for herself. She was a walking contradiction that was too great to be believable. And although I’m sure there were guys who got turned on by Lulu’s outfit or lack there of this Mortisha Adams rip off seemed out of place and unbelievable as well. I can understand the spell casting but what was up with the doll, a staff, a scepter, a crown, a book, a bracelet, a wand, but a dolly, Ugggg . And isn’t there a law or rule or something that allows only 1 big dumb yet likeable jock per. As with most RPGs the load times between zones was too long and the cut scenes too unhelpful. I thought Final Fantasy should have gotten over the run around as one character instead of showing the whole party thing long ago. You have the memory and the technology, stop being lazy and use it show the whole party moving from place to place. I like to end even my negative reviews on a positive note. The graphics were good nothing special but good. There. Happy Gaming.
