"The best RPG you can get for the PS2 and still a good game today"

User Rating: 10 | Final Fantasy X (Mega Hits!) PS2
This was the first Final Fantasy game that I ever played ,Since then I have played VII,VIII,IX and XII and with any luck Il be able to add XIII to that tally in the next month or so but anyway …..Out of these other Final Fantasy games, X comes a close second to VII. But considering a lot of people consider VII to be the best game ever made …This is not a bad thing.

Anyway I'll crack on with the review. When you first turn on the game you'll notice a score from the pretty much perfect soundtrack (it's such a soothing, beautiful and mesmerizing melody ) .You will also see the main protagonists sitting around a campfire then one of them (Tidus) will begin telling you his story. Get used to his pretty face, and awesome hair as you'll be playing as him from start to finish which could well be 100+ hours depending on if you keep playing after the final story boss.

So the game goes in to a cutscene showing you Tidus as the star Blitzball player in his hometown of Zanarkand.Blitzball is kind of like handball but underwater and your aloud to kick the ball. It's a pretty cool game and a fairly awesome rock song plays in the background but in the middle of the game this massive monster thing called Sin smashes in to the stadium and begins destroying Zanarkand. You're then thrown in to the gameplay and have to fight your way through a swarm of enemies until you reach Sin and are whisked away with it. You awake dazed and confused outside the decayed ruins of some sort of ancient temple. You are chased by a large creature and seek refuge inside the temple itself.

After gathering supplies you make yourself a fire but then you are suddenly attacked by another creature .Then a gang of people who happen to speak a completely different language to you(Al Bhed) burst in and save your arse. They decide to take you with them and you become friendly with one of them ,Who it turns out can speak English. Her name is Rikku and after doing a mission with her ..You are again attacked by Sin and end up washed upon the shore. It's actually a really nice beach and it is here that you meet Wakka. He is the star player of the Besaid Blitzball team who incidentally have never won a single game. Anyway after seeing your Blitzball skills in action and hearing your story (which he doesn't believe …he thinks you are delirious from Sin's toxin) He decides to take you with him.

It's after this that you get to meet Yuna who is the newest summoner to come out of Besaid.A summoner is someone that has the power to send souls to the afterlife and summon aeons ,Who are mystical and very powerful beings .Being a summoner ,Yuna will now have to set off on a journey around the whole of Spira .Going from temple to temple cleansing souls and summoning new aeons in the process .The last aeon in the journey is powerful enough to destroy Sin but only for a few days and then a new one is born.Anyway Yuna agrees to let you go with her on her journey along with her guardians which include Wakka.

As with all Final Fantasy games it's a very engaging and engrossing storyline with a lot of twists and turns along the way. It really makes you want to keep playing the game just to find out what happens next. The gameplay is turn based which I like because it gives you time to plan your next move instead of simply rushing in to it .The visuals were gorgeous in their day and still pack a punch even today.Enviroments are big and you are free to explore as much as you want although you will have to fight random battles along the way ,Unlike the newer Final Fantasy games which have the enemies displayed on screen in real-time.

The characters are very likeable perhaps even loveable and you won't want to leave them after spending the duration of the game with them. The voice acting is spot on and even some NPC's with only one line will say it in a cool spoken dialogue .The music is enchanting, exhilarating and an absolute joy to the senses. Every level has its own musical feel and even the boss battles have an exciting rhythm to them. This is without a doubt one of the best games ever made and one of my personal favourites .It really is something you have to behold ,Be it for its amazing graphics, strong cast of characters, epic storyline, solid gameplay or even its robust audio soundtrack ....You won't be left disappointed
