Sure it's fun .. but not this perfect game everyone seems to claim it to be.
The story was great, one of the best in a game I have played. The characters are great and the voice acting is almost spot-on. However, there are times in the game when you will spend eons watching {unskippable) cut scenes that advance the plot in the most painstakingly slow way without any actual gameplay to speak of. There never seems to be a sense of urgency, and this is most found in the combat. The wait system means that you never feel like it's a battle ... more like a game of chess. I guess this appeals to some, but not me.
Ok, that being said, this is a solid title. The story IS excellent, and you will fall in love with the characters. By the game's end you will have your heart broken. All the characters have some use, but you will definitely find some of them to be your best.
The game is somewhat innovative as an rpg in it's new sphere grid system. You really can make your characters into (almost) whatever you want them to be, albeit there are a few things restricting you at the game's start.
All in all, this is a great game to play ... but be prepared to be bored at times.
