Final Fantasy at its best.
User Rating: 9.4 | Final Fantasy X (Mega Hits!) PS2
First of all let me say that if you own a PS2 and love rpg's and don't already own this game you are doing yourself a crime. GET THIS GAME. Ok, with that out of the way lets talk FFX. When you think of rpg's you usually think of a type of leveling up system that you use while navigating a group driven by the games' main story. Well let me tell you this has the best storyline since FF7. You get so wrapped up and immersed in the story and attached to the characters that you forget your playing a game. The "sphere grid" system works so well, as you can choose a "path" for which each character can learn different skills and gain more stats based on their route. This can result in your fighters having curing spells and your magic users learning thief techniques. There really is no limit to what you can do as long as you can find enough "level keys" to open blocking paths. Too bad these keys are very scarce. The battles are fun and easy to master. You can now change out fighters on the fly allowing everyone to gain experience in the same battle if be your wish. The music is wonderful and sets the mood for each area, battle, or event perfectly. Full voice-overs are finally used to tell much of the story now and the voice-acting is a highpoint in the FFX experience. The cut-scenes are amazing as expected of the Final Fantasy series but the graphics other wise could have been better. There are a few mini-games but the value of this game mostly comes from seeing your party grow and become stronger. All and all Final Fantasy is the most satisfying rpg on the PS2 and everyone should enjoy its charm.
