Very good game, but its total lack of replay value and other factors hurt its potential.

Okay, I enoyed playing this game. I found it to have decent puzzles, the battle system was fun, and the landscapes and music were phenominal. But there are a few areas within this game, that are essential to any RPG in my opinion. Now, you can read the hundreds of reviews saying that this game is perfect for its upsides, I won't be talking about those here. Here are those lacking areas I have been talking about:

1) Replay value-

Okay, this game has ZERO replay value. Unless you want to play the same, exact game multiple times, there is no reason to play it more than once. There are no alterations in the story, no post-game dungeons or bonuses, NOTHING. Everything in the game can be accomplished in a single playthrough. To me, this is unacceptable. Even having a tiny easter egg in a second playthrough that means nothing would be better than what they did. Well okay, you CAN play the game again, but this time, don't do any bonus sidequests *gasp*!!! So really, there is no reason to play this game more than a single time, unless you get bored with another game that is.

2) Character development-

Okay, to start off, there is almost none in this game. Tidus is always the same punk who looks like he's never held a sword in his life. Yuna is the same unconfident bubbly girl. Lulu and Wakka still don't mean a thing to the game's story. You still don't care about Rikku. And Auron is Auron (which is a good thing ;D).

Those are the two glaring omissions in the game. I could go on, but to be honest, I'd rather be playing a game than writing a review about one I've already played xD So, take my comments however you wish. Peace.
