An expansion FFXI fans have been waiting for.
So Treasures of Aht Urghan, another expansion pack for FFXI? Why bother? Well simply put, content. ToAU takes the game in a completely new direction. Added initially were the besieged and assault modes. Added a bit later are the chocobo circuits and raising. Soon to be (if not added already) are the colosseum battles.
But as much as ToAU adds, it puts limits on. First of all, it is for higher level characters only. In fact, just to get to Aht Urghan you need to be of reasonably high enough level to fufil the requirements to get your boarding pass. Secondly, the monsters in the new areas, are higher level, and many require experienced players to tackle and defeat sucessfully. Square-Enix wants new players to go through the old content and learn the basics of the game and can go on missions with other players without embarrassing himself/herself.
But once they get high enough in level, it is well worth the wait.
