The series gets better than ever.

User Rating: 9.5 | Final Fantasy XI (PlayOnline Entry Disc) PS2
Ever since Final Fantasy started way back, everyone who has played it knows that it is one of the best RPG's there is. Several years later Final Fantasy is still one of the most renounced games in all of gaming history and anyone who play them are left in awed. FFXI then comes around in Japan and then the U.S this time with online play, and once again gamers are left speechless. But enough history and let's move on to the game. When you start you can choose from a host of favorable jobs (classes) that are widely known in the FF universe. After you create your character, you start off in your nation of your choice and can start kicking butt right away. After a few level ups, you can get a second job at Lv.18 to add to your current one. A bit more leveling up and you can then choose from a range of more "advanced" jobs, such as a Paladin or Summoner. The graphics on this game are just fantastic when compared to other MMORPGs. Detail is a bit less on the PS2, but you'll be having too much fun to notice this. Although you'll need to load between every area, loading time is quite quick. Also since players are divided among more than 30 servers, lag is almost a never, not including the heavily populated areas though. Sound is great also that feature from a host of songs and sounds, from the sound of a sword hitting, to the popular chocobo song. Story is also unique like all of the game's predecessors and quite good for a MMORPG. One thing that you'll notice also that Square-Enix always updates the game every now and then, making the game more fun, though sometimes updates take a bit of time to download. Fighting is also not the only thing to do on FFXI though. Crafting skills are also available and can help you out when saving money for that weapon that "owns" everything it hits. Fishing is also available and the system to it is quite easy. There are also a countless amount of quests and missions to do while you're out adventuring. But this is all just the tip of the iceberg, if you don't take my word for it, give this game a try and you'll see that it'll be worth the money and time.
