Its hardcoreness overrides its beauty.

The graphics are technically pretty good, but it's the distinct and lovely art style and rich cultures of the races that make it such a work of beauty. The music is quite nice, as well, but I found myself listening to other music while playing. Another, less important complaint is that it took 6 hours to fully install and begin playing FFXI! That's a long time to have to wait to start a game. Far too difficult to be worth it, in spite of its great beauty, FFXI leaves me wishing. It leaves me wishing I was the hardcorest of the hardcore, which is what you need to be to really get anything out of the game.

Too bad, too....because it's so beautiful.
