A great game but lack of Final Fantasy soul...

User Rating: 9.5 | Final Fantasy XII PS2
I bought this game with high expectations and it's worth it. Game's artistic style, atmosphere is just perfect for people who like oriental stuff like i do.
First i want to talk about the storyline. Probably the worst thing in the game. If you played other Final Fantasy games you should know that "story" has a massive importance. In this game story is hard to follow. It's basiclly a fusion of each character's story. At first it goes well and interesting twin brothers and such, but after a while you begin to think "....and what was that again?".
Graphics are really good i mean REALLY. It's clear that developers put so much effort on making characters look realistic. in most cutscenes characters' facial expressions and moves are natural, you can get in the mood easily. Textures are detailed. I played this game on a HD TV and they looked fine.
The biggest change in this game is the gameplay. Some people don't like game's battle system but i think it's revolutionaly. Monsters became smarter, they can sense you quickly. Also it's good to see monsters in your map. The only thing bothers me about gameplay is the Licence Board system. Every character has the same one. That means each character is going to have same skills at the end.
Music and sound is nice. character voice's are sleek. Music fits perfectly to the mood.
Overall, it's a great game. You can play it while waiting for FFXIII.
