Just plain boring
The graphics are very weirdly rendered, at times looking great and at others confusingly fuzzy.
The realtime system is too much of an inbetween, you can move your characters around but all you are really doing is waiting for them to attack. It's dull. It would have been more interesting if they had done a grandia style thing where your position relative to an enemy has a bearing on the combat and where it is possible to change precedence for attacking with criticals etc.
The plot is uninteresting and cobbled together also. Seemingly just an excuse to pull you into different locations but not actually flowing from one to the next.
The grid system is alright, quite a lot like ff10 really. It's too confusing to maintain for 8 characters though and you will be endlessly switching between the license board and equip screen and shop when trying to upgrade people's equipment.
The equipment is dull too. There are 4 types of armour but they dont have any different effects on the wearer. The weapons cant be customised and often have to be replaced meaning that there is lots of annoying inventorizing.
I didnt like this game. Whether that is because I have just played too much final fantasy now I'm not sure. It's a definite possibility that i have just spent too many hours grinding and now there is no interest left.
