A game truly unlike any other on the Playstation 2. A remarkable new masterpiece worth your money, wait, and time.
Let me first start out by saying this is one of the better games Square Enix has put out on the market. This game alone has somewhat renewed my faith in them. This game however has a mixed result with peolpe, while yes they changed the battle system, some like it, some feel it has lost it's original charm. Music: The composer this time is NOT Nubuo Uematsu, which means a lot of viewers already are going to make a fuss. However there are other talented composers, however the one who did this one is not. He may have created a few great pieces but I think he failed overall. It sometimes felt so rehashed when they played the same music over, and over. Perhaps when they played remixed versions of songs I've already heard before. Since this was the first time that the composer had done a brand new Final Fantasy he should've tried to show his stuff with originality, not copying Uematsu's work then trying to remix it. Gameplay: Game play is the key factor of its charm. This has one of the best, if not the best battle engines I've ever seen. It is completely real time, so no more lag between moves. This was done so uniquely. There are lots of things to do within this game including hunting old familiar faces, hunting for lost treasures, raising through the ranks of your guild, or for feint of heart; fishing.
Graphics: For a Final Fantasy game it truly set the bar above the rest. This Final Fantasy truly looks phenominal. They paid attention to key details, including the smallest details on cloths, items, weapons, and even the backgrounds. Character faces move, lip syncing is incredible in this game as well. Over all this is one of the outstanding features of the game.
Replay Value: Hmmm this is mixed. If you're someone who plays it through just to beat it-there's not much here for you. However if you're someone who loves to finish a game with everything in it-this is the game for you. This game has lots of things to do as side quests, including bosses which take hours to dominate. Incredibly hard to find super weapons are hidden throughout the game for you to find. Outlandish armors are spilled throughout the crevices of this game. If you like side stories this is for you too, because there are so many, most which come from hunts. Like completing the bestiary, that is a whole other activity in its self.
