FFXII is truly one of the best in the series. It will take awhile to get used to the new changes in gameplay.

I picked this up yesterday and played for few hours. Right off the bat I was presented with a great opening story that let me know what was going on in the gameworld. The main character while he may look girly is a very good lead. You control Vann and upto two others in your active party.You can control all of your characters with the new Gambit System. The best part is if you setup and manage the Gambits well enough you really don't have to worry about the tedious task of inputting commands for every fight. While the Gambit system is complicated and take a while to learn it is a great innovation for the series. Same can be said for the License System. It allows you to build up any character to fit any job you need filled in the party. This way you can have a Fighter, Mage, and Cleric at all times and use your favorite party members. Another cool portion is the hunting side quests where you go and kill rare monsters for bounties, this really adds to the flavor of the game. The only con I found is the graphics, granted it is a PS2 game I found the graphics to be quite lacking. Still aside from the lacking graphics I would recommend this title for GOTY and as a must purchase for all PS2 owners.
