FFXII is amazing, no question. The story is amazing, mostly since its much more complex and mature than a simple "go save the world" story. The new combat system is great. A lot of reviews here are giving the combat system crap 'cause of the gambit system, and say that its too easy or too boring to just watch your characters fight. However, you do not, by any means, HAVE to use gambits... I sure as hell dont. You can play the old-school way and input everything your characters do turn-by-turn if you want to. Only difference is that its in real time, which, in my opinion, only makes it more innovative and exciting. My only complaint is that the game isnt very character-driven.
