Change is Good.

What ever happened to the turned based role playing games that used to stand your characters in lines so you could leap to the other side, attack a foe, and leap back? Its morphed and changed into something that makes gaming much more fun.

The combat in the game is definitely one of the most enjoyable things thtat has been changed. It plays as an mmo-rpg game would play (Think of world of warcraft), and is very similar to the style of Knights of the old republic, in which, almost any character can wield any weapon.

The sequence of the drawn out battle where the screen shatters or sifts away is gone. This can be a good thing or a bad thing for RPG gamers, personally I find that its more enjoyable to fight because that sequence is no longer there. Licence points are gained by fighting enemies, and is an interesting way to develop each character the way you see fit. It also feels some what rewarding for now even the smallest creature is worth killing because it will yield these points. The time of having a billion gagillion Gill is gone. Most of the time you will have plenty of items that you will want to buy to improve your characters, but very little time will you be able to purchase absolutely everything. This makes the game intriguing as you now have to choose only the important items that you think you'll need.

The gambit system is very interesting, and allows you to tweak your allies AI. This can help most of the time when fighting enemies that have specific weaknesses. Or, if you want to conserve your MP , you can choose to only heal someone in critical condition at the last second. One of the little quirks that this game contains is the side quest of hunting, in which you take a hunting bill from a boad, find the person who put it up, then begin the hunt. These offered some challenging and interesting monsters to hunt. All in all, this game as turned out to be a great RPG that has plenty of replay value.
