Ugh, this was suppose to be a final fantasy game?

Its the "final" game i'll ever play. I'm a final fantasy fan and this game was on my to buy list of 2006, but something when horribly wrong. The game was NOT worth my 3 years wait. I stood in line to grab the game on midnight of the release and when I got home, I stuck it into the system to be blown away at the awesome graphics and environment. Then I found the gambit system and that was very convienient, because it lets you set up an AI system for your characters, but it was too convienient. Throughout the game I used the gambit and I found myself sleep sitting several times, because it took all the action and fun away. All I basically did was sit on my bed and move my characters using the left analog and that was it! The story is not lengthy and there is very little character backgrounds which was a set off.
I rate games my own way, that is, I don't look at certain aspects and give them scores and average it out. I give a rating of the overall experience and from my experiences playing this game, it was COOL, but not fun so I give it a 6.5/10. Final fantasy 9 was much better than this game despite graphical differences. The gameplay and storytelling in games are more important, not the graphics and I, having played almost all of the final fantasy games back up my decision with faith and unbiasness. Final fantasy XII's story is just not intriguing.
