Twelve stories later and still going strong. Best of the series with fresh new gameplay.

A tale of traitors and corrupt governments, Final Fantasy XII throws you right in the middle of a country falling apart at the seams and you, Vaan, aren't too worried about it. After learning that the king is a fraud and that the rightful heir to the throne still lives, you make it your goal to make sure Lady Ashe assumes her rightful place on the throne. Pulling off a new type of fighting system sometimes breaks a good series, but in Final Fantasy XII, it's a breathe of fresh air and definently something that has been long overdue in the Final Fantasy franchise. It doesn't take too long to figure out how everything works, and by the time you get the knack of it, you won't want to revert back to the old games! As in every final fantasy, sidequests are plentiful, giving the game +20 extra hours of gameplay that doesn't really seem to be repetitive or meaningless. The townspeople all seem to have their own unique personalities, as do your teammates, so it's never boring just to talk to whoever you find to pass the time. If you don't already own this title, it should be on your list as games to get ASAP. Final Fantasy XII gives back to you everything you ever wanted in the series and then surprises you with things you never would have imagined. Once you start playing, it'll be hard to put the controller down and every now and then you will sit there wondering, "What's goina' happen next." A definite must have.
