A nice step for change but falls short of predecessors

Final Fantasy is the greatest franchise of rpgs ever. FF's, especially the psone ones, contain more depth, innovations, and master story lines than any other rpg and I hope they will continue to do so. But with FF12 they tried to change their normal formula up and it was a good and not good change. The good was eliminating annoying random battles and making the normal battles fun and exciting and in turn making making the dungeons also more interesting and fun. But the thrill of boss battles are destroyed for this change. They're all too small or too easy. The enormous creatures of the passed are replaced with human sized ones (and if they're really big they're lame fights). But the story is still just as good and interesting as a FF should be.
I did not however, like that square replaced the FFT world of Ivalice with the FFTA world. FFT was an amazing experience that made the tactical rpg what it is now. NIS would not be making games if it wasn't for FFT. But FFTA was a flat game for a FF. The world was cheap, the summons were not as cool as Bahamut or Shiva. I think square definitely should have used the world of Ramza rather than that of Marche. But all of that aside the thing this game lacks most is bad ass characters. Every character is gay. At least for an FF. No character matches the caliber of Auron or Cloud or Vivi. The characters in this one are more on the par with Quina. If the characters would've been cooler and more interesting and didn't look and act so much alike this game would definietly be more desirable. With all of that said I still think this game is great but flawed.
