Fun gameplay, though sometimes tedious.
This game is both pretty and involved. You will probably be spending a lot of time going over the same ground again and again, trying to complete quests, get that one item and finally pummel that Mark into the ground so you can get some clan status. Be prepared for some head scratching if you haven't played a Final Fantasy game before, as I had not. I have played more Western RPG's and some of the concepts here are new to me.
This isn't really a button masher as you can simply set all your characters (in a maximum on-screen party of three) to be completely automated during combat. Gaining more "Technicks", "Gambits" and other skills, including weapons and sorcery, you can get your party to be quite formidible.
All in all, an enjoyable game, that has no obvious short-comings, aside from a serious commitment which might irk your family and other loved ones.
