This game was so uninspired it is probably the worst Final Fantasy game to date. Any real Final Fantasy fan can see how subpar this game actually was. They tried to rehash their XI game play, which only worked when you had a group of people working with you. The graphics even seemed short sided, the environments looked amazing, but the characters sometimes looked worse than that of their FFX predecessor. Combat could be over simplified to just using your mist on a boss fight and killed him without ever actually engaging him. The combination of your Mist (Limit Breaks) to your MP was just plain stupid and I hope whoever decided to do that was shot in the head 3 times. The story had some inventive twists and turns, but the characters were so shallow that someone couldn't even gain a sort of affection for them, if I saw one of them die I wouldn't even give them a second thought. SE is often known for their amazing story telling in games that is second to none, why they decided on a flop like this I will always be baffled about.
Finally I believe that this game has hurt SE in a way by making people lose faith in them. This is probably why XIII doesn't seem to be getting the amount of Hype other FF games have. I can only hope they XIII isn't as bad as this game, but from everything I've seen, I am no impressed in the slightest. I hope they step it up. Otherwise they are going to lose a lot more money.
