Takes a bit to get used to, but a welcome change of pace.

I admit that when I first played FInal Fantasy XII I was less than impressed. I thought the battle system was confusing and less effective. After getting used to the new battle system I think it would be strange to go back to turn based fighting. You have much more control over your party and with the Gambit system, which allows you to designate pre set commands for your party to carry out in a specific situation. The story is compelling, but not as good as FF 7 or even FF 10. I would recommend it to any Final Fantasy fan, or an RPG fan that is looking for a change of pace. Look for many RPGs to look to follow in Square's footsteps.
