A great branch to a wonderful RPG created by none other than Square Enix themselves. Hardest I've Played in the Series.
To be fair, there are some flaws in the game. First off, it is hard at some points. Sometimes you will charge into a place that you are not ready for simply because you didn't fallow directions. Even if you go the right way, there are some creaters that need to be avoided at all cost. These are elemental orbs. They seem harmless enough, and docile enough, but suddenly it goes hostile and kills you in a single hit, and these things can be found in many places. Another thing, but this one is kind of petty, is the lack of Nu Mous. I love them and I fail to see them. On a more larger subject is the gambit system and the licence system. This are alittle hard to figure out at first, but it kind of grows on you. The gambit system needs some real getting used to because you may set a person to do a sertin task, but when you want that person to do something else you forget to make them do that manualy because you are used to them attacking automaticly.
The game may be hard, but at least it gives you a fair chance. The hard part about it is the lack of money and gained experience. This makes it a little hard to move around in sometimes. Atleast sometimes you get a helping hand from a friend like Larsa who, somehow, has an infinate amount of Hi-Potions to use at his desposil, but the only problem with a guest is, they have there own gambits set.
Personaly, I think this makes a great, challenging game since they placed it on the PS2, and it is very affordable. Not only that, It was created by Square Enix. They have never failed me. I thaught that this would be some cheap let down since it was only twenty dollars, but it surprised me, and I played this game all night for fifteen hours straight and didnt even get past the Elder Wyrm yet! In short, this game as amazed me, but probably not the best for people who aren't willing to fight in the fray.
