Gameplay: The game play in XIII-2 is better than the one in XIII because of few elements that give you more control of you actions like the jump bottom, that you may thing is a joke but it give certain freedom witch is nice, also the Mog clock is a nice thing to add cause it add tension and a sense of urgency. In battle you have the feral link witch is cool and in boss fight you have action sequence that draw you more into the action. But even then is not enough because i didn't feel like i was the one doing the job, cause you control like 40% of what your character does, you run, you jump once in a while, and then is just auto attack, when the fight start you don't do anything. The fact that the auto battle command is there is so stupid, why would they do that? other final fantasy where you don't control the movement of you character ( ff-1 to ff-10) are cool because there's a lot strategy behind the game play and you are force to choose wisely your attacks. note: you don't have to use the auto attack stuff but is there and is not good to play any game that has a auto play option in its game play. Am i wrong? think about it, is almost like watching the fight instead of fighting yourself. Not cool.
Story: the story on 13 is better than this one, but is done in SUCH a corny and stupid way that they ruin a great myth, and in 13-2 the story is not so great but i thing is better develop, and more mature (just a little) and that for ME made it more engaging and entertain. I like Noel a Serah, they are humble and smart and have a great hearth and that for me help cause i really didn't like any of the characters of the first 13 where if the character where too mean or they where stupid and too "Innocent", Sera and Noel are some of the best character in 13 universe and as the story goes you are going to connect more with them. Caius is good villain, he fight's not for the more exciting reasons but its awesome fighting a guy like that instead of fighting the Pope we fought in 13. The option of choosing you own dialogue is great, make the story more yours than any other FF game i have played.
Graphics are great, good looking environments and the history crux is great, one of the best part of the game in my opinion.
So is this final fantasy another game to become a legend? maybe, is this ff game the one that is gonna easy that need of feeling in my own advent children adventure? no (and im not asking for ff7, even I, that love that game so much, I'm sick of people just talking about it). I want a new adventure, but i want something that i have 95% as minimum of all my character actions, more darker story and longer and all of the elements that make a great game.
So why 7.5? if most of the thing i said is negative? because i see the difference, I humble enough to admit that even though this is not the game i have being waiting for, Square enix did a lot to make i better and i think they did, if i had the fun i had playing this one on 13 probably i would hate 13 as much as i do. This is a nice game, that you can enjoy but i will suggest to rent it (do not play the demo because is boring and wont show you the potential this game have).
