What I consider minor flaws do not change the fact that this game sucks you in from almost beginning to end.
Good degree of difficulty.
Forced to partake in almost all the game has to offer to complete it.
Stellar graphics, and even better FMW
An emotional roller coaster story that will leave you wondering right to the end.
A very complete world worth revisiting.
Cons:
Lack of ability to go through all passed areas later in the game
Having to read the Datalog to understand parts of the story.
Overall Comments:
The switch from PS2 to PS3 during development time caused a lengthy delay to this wonderful epic. Hopefully this won't be repeated in the future, though with FFXIV on the way already it looks like they have taken steps to correct this. However, this does not change the epic tale of a fight for survival. The music is a departure from the staple of Nobuo Uematsu, but still captures the essence of Final Fantasy very well. I graphically I would recommend this game for the PS3 over Xbox360 due to the higher 1080p FMV scenes.
On a final note I will revisit this world, if not only to hunt down the enemies of Pulse that are easily seens, but not required to kill during the main plotline. They are extremely powerful and you must finish the game first in order to max out your party stats in order to take on these beasts.. A nice touch to add replayability to the game. I will be playing for many hours yet indeed.
