Good rpg, Terrible Final Fantasy

What I appreciated In the older Final Fantasy games was the exploration, working on the main quest when i wanted to, Working on mini-games, combat, and side quests the rest of the time.

I Hate all the things this game has taken away from the series, there are no towns, no mini games, no side quests. Give me ff7-10,12. Because of all the things this game game lacks it doesn't belong to be considered equal to the rest of the numbered series of final fantasy games.

But on the other hand it is a fine combat system and the story is relatively interesting and worth a play through, though again don't expect it to be as engaging as others in the series and don't expect any sort of freedom in what you do because frankly... there is none. There is one way to go and that's forward thru the main storyline. which is fine but as a seasoned final fantasy player I found myself waiting to finally arrive at a town or settlement for a brake in the continuous grinding. but ... sadly i never arrived anywhere. just walking/fighting down this road to nowhere for 20+ hours.
