FFXIII is a great game but is very different regarding the other FF games. It still is overlooked by it's linearity and lack of Core FF elements such as towns, vehicles, MP. One of the most unique thing in FFXIII is that after battles, health is fully restored. This may be relieving to most people but may seem awkward to others. The battle system is active time battle like Chrono Trigger, and works well in the game. Graphics are amazing as screenshots show. FFXIII brags about it's high quality graphics. Theres a cutscene almost every 2 minutes in the first part of the game. Don't get me wrong, the cutscenes are gorgeous, but take so long. One has to get a little bored. In FFIV for the DS, there were maybe a few cutscenes, but FFXIII just emphasizes it. a lot. The story telling in FFXIII is pretty good. You learn more about the story and characters further in the game. Other FF games like FFIII, the story is that your four orphans, go save the world. Nothing is learned. FFXIII asks why we need to save the world, or destroy for that matter. To wrap this short review up, FFXIII is a game not to miss, but will disappoint hardcore FFXIII fans.
