Worst FF ever! OMG!
Controls lack freedom. You spend most of your time auto-attacking. Over and over one battle to the next.
Paradigm system is weak. It would be better if when you switched, only one character switches. For the beginning game though, it works cause you have 6 slots but eventually this just limits your choices. Also, switching interrupts what your other teammates are doing.
No towns/places to travel till late game. No need to explain. A RPG without maps/towns/places to go.
Too damn linear. Everything. The stupid manual says that the crystarium branches off blah blah blah. Not. You get to go one branch that leads to usually one thing then you go back. Then the maps are just run straight ahead. Don't worry about going off track cause we have these stupid blockades to prevent you from exploring.
Upgrade system is a joke. Ok let's spend x number of these organic items then spend x number of these other items to level up my weapons and acc. Would be nice if there was a better explanation on how things work. Why can't i use 30 wicked fang and 30 thickened hide together without having to do one at a time?
The fact that everything is so big when you're moving around and yet, a monster can be 2 inches in front of you and not detect you (while you don't have the shroud running). Like this is really dumb. Or the fact that
Annoying Cut Scenes - Again with the firework back flashes. How many times we go to one marker, then cut scene then another marker then cut scene then another without fighting?
Annoying characters. Sazh just isn't funny. Hope is just too whiney. Snow can be a punk. Vanille? Seems like her hair should be a bright blond. Weird how all the guys are so wack.
Confusing storyline. C'el, I'el whatever. They're all el's. Crap hide the stupid mark on your arm and nobody would even know what you were. The storyline is dumb and if people with all this magic power is so smart, they'd team up and take over for themselves.
What I did like about the game?
1) Girl power. I did like playing as fang and lightning.
2) Idea of teammates fighting by themselves. Not a new idea but liked that it was included
3) Music is so so. Some was decent and some was darn right annoying like I was sitting in nursery school.
4) If you die, you don't start at the save point but where you last died at.
Edit: I'm at 28 hours into it according to the time in the game but i've spent a lot more starting over, researching how to do stuff, etc. When playing a majority of the other FF's, it took nowhere close to this to know if the game was good or not. They need to make a FF2 remake so Palom and Porom can turn to stone again.
