My first FE game and it was worth every penny i spent on the game. One of the Best RPG for the GCN.

I've heard a lot about the FE games, but never managed to pick one up until it finally came to the Gamecube. And believe me, it was well worth the wait and also worth every penny.

At first, it felt a bit weird because its the first time i played a strategy based RPG game. But after five minutes or so, it really picked up and you will fall in love with the gameplay style.

The story is deep and enriched with the colors of the different races the game has to offer. The newly introduced laguz tribe can be broken down into the beast tribe consisting of tigers, cats and lion; the mighty dragon tribe, the hawk tribe, the raven tribe, and the heron tribe.

The graphics is sub par to the graphics these generations had to offer. But graphics doesn't define a game, like in Skies of Arcadia Legends ( another amazing RPG game for the GCN). So, i didn't really mind the gaphics since the gameplay and beautiful drawn characters make up for it. The CG movies were stunning but i just wished there were more. There is a little animation and movement during the dialogue scenes which makes the character livelier.

There are plenty of characters available to use in the game, each with their own unique abilities according to their classes. A huge range of classes are available like: Paladins, Archers, Knights, Mages, Priests, Lord, Warrior, Thief, Assassin, Swordmaster, and a lot more. On top of that, theres a variety of weapons and magics to be used which are balanced out by what is known as the triangle chart ( commonly known as Rock-Paper-Scissors relationship).

Characters have unique connection with each other in the game and only by using them a certain amount of time, will you get to know more and more about their background.

The sound and music fits the atmosphere of the game and puts gamers into the world of Tallius. Some nicely orchestrated songs are put into the game and some of the boss fights even have their own special music to it. On top of this, there's even a song using a unique language used by the Heron tribe, but the downflaw is you won't know what the hell they're talking about.

It also offers a lot of replayability option with the Trial map option and secret characters that can be unlocked with replaying the game. But i wished there was more trial maps and more unlockable characters.

For the the first FE game into 3D world, it is a solid RPG game that won't disappoint the fans and welcome new gamers to this wolrd of Fire Emblem. So far, this have to be one of the best RPG games of this generation and definitely one of my favs for the Gamecube. What are you waiting for now, go out and buy this game. You won't regret it.
